Course Description

Basic

Students will learn the basics of Korean grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. They will also learn how to read and write Hangul, the Korean alphabet.

Intermediate

Students will build on their basic knowledge of Korean by learning more advanced grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.

Advance

Students will further develop their Korean skills by learning even more advanced grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. They will also learn how to use Korean in more complex and nuanced ways.

Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Communicate in Japanese in a variety of contexts.

Course Description for Korean Language

This course is designed to teach Korean language skills to students of all levels. The course will cover the following topics. They will also learn how to use Korean in a variety of contexts, such as talking about their personal lives, traveling in Korea, and understanding Korean media.

  • Grammar: Students will learn the basics of Korean grammar, including sentence structure, verb conjugation, and noun declension.
  • Vocabulary: Students will learn about 500-1000 basic Korean words and phrases.
  • Pronunciation: Students will learn how to pronounce Korean sounds correctly.
  • Hangul: Students will learn how to read and write Hangul, the Korean alphabet.
  • Topics: Students will learn about Korean culture, history, and society.
  • Grammar: Students will learn more advanced Korean grammar, including complex sentence structures and verb conjugations.
  • Vocabulary: Students will learn about 2000-3000 intermediate Korean words and phrases.
  • Pronunciation: Students will improve their Korean pronunciation skills.
  • Hangul: Students will become more proficient in reading and writing Hangul.
  • Topics: Students will learn about more advanced topics in Korean culture, history, and society.
  • Grammar: Students will learn the most advanced Korean grammar, including passive voice, relative clauses, and honorifics.
  • Vocabulary: Students will learn about 5000-10000 advanced Korean words and phrases.
  • Pronunciation: Students will achieve native-like pronunciation skills.
  • Hangul: Students will become fluent in reading and writing Hangul.
  • Topics: Students will learn about the most advanced topics in Korean culture, history, and society.
  • Listening comprehension: Students will listen to Korean audio recordings and answer questions about what they have heard.
  • Speaking practice: Students will have opportunities to practice speaking Korean with the instructor and other students.
  • Reading comprehension: Students will read Korean texts and answer questions about what they have read.
  • Writing practice: Students will have opportunities to practice writing Korean sentences and paragraphs.
